Homelessness Awareness Northern Rivers

We are a small class of students currently studying a Cert IV in Community Services at TAFE in Ballina NSW. As part of this course we are studying a unit about working with people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
As our study coincides with Homelessness week and it is a topic that we are all passionate about, our class is going to host an event to raise awareness of homelessness in our region. We want  to raise awareness of the many issues that individuals and families in our region are experiencing, and also provide information on some services that are available locally. Homelessness in our community has been exacerbated by the recent floods.
We believe that homelessness is an important issue that needs addressing in our community and beyond. Our aim is to raise awareness and gather signatures on the petition to send to parliament to address homelessness in Australia.
