Homelessness Week Cairns Homelessness Action Now: The Changing Face of Homelessness

This year we have changed the way we want to focus on homelessness week by screening a documentary style film that captures the stories of people who are/have experienced homelessness in our region. Housing and homelessness services have been working with clients and the community to ensure this event provides an insight and an understanding about homelessness and the changing face of homelessness in our region.
The theme for this year’s event is The Changing Face of Homelessness, Homelessness action Now”.
The event will be an opportunity to be a part of community solutions and action. The demographic of people experiencing homelessness has changed compounded by the recent flooding, cost of living, impacts of COVID and low housing stock. Our region is not exempt, and our focus needs to be on working together to find a solution.
