Housing and Homelessness Networking BBQ

As part of Homelessness Week, the Housing and Homelessness Network will host a community BBQ to bring together stakeholders, service providers, community leaders, people with lived experience, and local residents in support of a more inclusive and connected Townsville community.

This informal gathering will provide an opportunity to strengthen partnerships, raise awareness of homelessness and housing challenges, and celebrate the collective efforts of organisations and individuals working to improve outcomes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The event will encourage meaningful conversations, foster collaboration across sectors, and highlight the importance of a coordinated community response to housing insecurity.

Through sharing a meal and connecting in a welcoming environment, stakeholders can build relationships, exchange ideas, and demonstrate their commitment to advocating for safe, secure, and affordable housing for all members of the Townsville community. The BBQ will also recognise the valuable contributions of frontline workers, volunteers, and community organisations that support some of the region’s most vulnerable people.

Together, we can raise awareness, inspire action, and strengthen community connections to create lasting positive change during Homelessness Week and beyond.
