Homelessness is everyone’s issue, not just the responsibility of the homelessness and housing sector.
This Homelessness Week, we’re challenging you to do something simple that could make a real difference.
After this session, we want every participant to have meaningful conversations with at least five people outside our sector about homelessness. Whether it’s with family, friends, colleagues, neighbours or your local community, every conversation helps build understanding, challenge misconceptions and create momentum for change.
Join us for a practical and forward-looking session where we’ll explore:
What the Queensland State Budget means for housing and homelessness, and where we go from here.
How policy advocacy creates lasting change and how everyone can play a role.
Practical tips for having conversations about homelessness that build understanding and inspire action.
Why data matters, how to use it effectively, and what it tells us about the changes we need to make.
The importance of lived expertise in shaping better policies, services and communities.
The actions we can take today that will strengthen our housing system over the next 5 to 10 years.
How we move beyond responding to the crisis and start building a future where everyone has a safe place to call home.
We invite you to come, listen, share your expertise and ask questions. Through the registration process, you are invited to ask a question to Q Shelter that you would like answered.
Our challenge to you:
Before Homelessness Week ends, have five conversations with people who don’t work in the housing or homelessness sector.
Together, we can move beyond awareness and help create a community that understands the housing crisis, speaks up for change and advocates for solutions.
One conversation can change a perspective. Five conversations can start a movement.
