Report launch: “They can’t go back home”: Young People and Homelessness in Mparntwe Alice Springs.

NT Shelter and the Office of the Children’s Commissioner NT have united on a collaborative project with the joint goal of supporting the young people of Mparntwe Alice Springs to develop a call to action on their housing and shelter needs.

The project, “They can’t go back home”: Young People and Homelessness in Mparntwe Alice Springs, takes the words of young people and offers evidence-based solutions to youth homelessness from around Australia and overseas.

The rate of young people experiencing homelessness in the Northern Territory is 11.74 times the Australian average. It is our hope that this project informs a way forward for young people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness in Mparntwe Alice Springs.

The project will be launched during Homelessness Week 2023 at an event in Mparntwe Alice Springs.
