Walk a Mile in My Boots

Since 2009, the South Australian community has come together every August, during National Homelessness Week, to take part in Walk a Mile in My Boots. It’s an opportunity to step out and raise vital funds to support people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

It is heart-warming to see South Australians supporting people experiencing homelessness; walking in their local communities as well as using their own digital and social channels to bring awareness to such an important cause.

Registrations for Hutt St Centre’s 2024 Walk a Mile in My Boots challenge open in early June. The challenge is open to everyone, and all registered participants will be invited to attend our community event – The Final Mile – on Friday 9 August 2024.

This in-person event will see over 2,000 community members walking from Victoria Park/Pakapakanthi to Peppermint Park/ Wita Wirra in solidarity with people experiencing homelessness in South Australia.
