The Future of Homelessness Practice Workshop – Leadership and System Perspectives

As part of Homelessness Week 2026, Shelter WA invites CEOs, Directors, Board representatives, Managers and Team Leaders to participate in The Future of Homelessness Practice Workshop: Leadership and System Perspectives.

A strong homelessness sector relies on a sustainable, supported and future-ready workforce. This workshop will bring together sector leaders to explore the strategic opportunities, challenges and priorities facing homelessness sector practice across Western Australia.

Through facilitated discussion and collaborative inquiry, participants will:

– Explore the changing needs and pressures facing the homelessness sector
– Identify the capabilities, supports and conditions needed for a sustainable and effective workforce
– Examine workforce wellbeing, organisational resilience and leadership in the context of increasing demand
– Consider the role of Lived Experience and peer expertise in strengthening governance, policy and service design
– Build a shared understanding of opportunities for sector development, collaboration, commissioning reform and system improvement

Insights generated through this workshop will help inform future advocacy, workforce development, policy reform and service improvement initiatives, supporting a stronger homelessness sector and better outcomes for Western Australians experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness.
