Join Toora’s 1982 Rewind Challenge on Thursday, 6 August 2026 during National Homelessness Week to celebrate 44 years of Toora helping women find safety, stability and a place to call home.

What Toora started in 1982 still matters today.

It’s hard to celebrate our 44th birthday with statistics like these:

• At least 2 in 5 assaults recorded by state and territory police were family and domestic violence (‘FDV’) related. Victims of FDV related assault were most commonly:
  • Female (61-80%)
  • Assaulted by an intimate partner (51-81%)
  • At the residential location (47-87%)
• Median age of death for people sleeping rough: 46 years.
