Poverty Inquiry Submission

The high cost of housing in Australia, lack of affordable rentals and inadequacy of income support results in poverty for many households and drives homelessness. Fixing the housing crisis so that everyone can access a home they can afford is critical to addressing poverty and to ending homelessness in Australia. As this Submission to the Senate Community Affairs References Committee Inquiry into the extent and nature of poverty in Australia outlines, this will require policy to address both income adequacy and the supply of affordable rental homes.
